Kleine Samstag

Hey guys
Just wanted to update you about the tour.

Monday we played a really nice gig at the naTo in Leipzig. A lovely club with a nice audience. We also had a good local support act called Atlas Ahead with great energy who led dancers on the dance floor during our set.
Afterwards we mingled with some fans from Norway, Chile and Colombia. A nice change of pace as we could trade our broken German and English for speaking Swedish and Spanish. A great show and a great night.

Tuesday was a quite strange one. We played in the town of Döbeln for a small crowd of mostly the staff but we had a good time anyway.
Earlier in the day we visited Apollo Radio in Chemnitz where we recorded an interview as well as playing a song acoustically and recording a couple of promos for our gig at the big Soul Weekender at Ostpol in Dresden.

Saalfeld was the name of the town we visited yesterday. A brand new town for us, so we didn't know what to expect. But as we were driving to the venue the arranger called us up to tell us it was sold out. And it surely was. We were so excited that we continued playing long after we were out of songs. Jonas and John traded places, switching drums and piano. And then Kristin wanted to play the drums as well, which meant that John became the lead vocalist. A truly unique gig with Combo de la musica. Afterwards we had a nice surprise in waiting. A local artisan had handcrafted a really cool stool just for us with the name of the band engraved in the seat. We were really moved and truly honored.
As the crowd seemed to be in the mood to party we tried to introduce them to the Swedish concept of "lillördag" (little Saturday), which basically means that Wednesday is just as good as Saturday to go out and party. This didn't go quite as planned as I accidentally said that it translated to kleine Mittwoch (little Wednesday) which just left people confused.
We had a lovely time in Saalfeld. Thank you so much to Andreas and his service minded staff.

Today we're going to Dresden which we're really excited about. Our booking agent Björn tells us it's going to be a huge party and we've had great experiences in Dresden so far.

Take care
/carl & combo de la musica
